Don't crash on timeout in renewCache() (#8986)

Fixes #8962.

withTimeout throws a TimeoutCancellationException if the timeout
expires. To avoid crashing renewalJob when there are no extensions,
use withTimeoutOrNull which does not throw on timeout.
